However, if you can’t resist the call of the chips, at least watch what you’re dipping them in. Or better yet, ask your server to take the chips away. What you need to remember is that crispy is just a nicer way of saying fried - and that means loads of fat and calories. When the waiter brings over that basket of crispy tortilla chips, it’s hard to eat just one - or even just one serving. But where there’s a will, there’s a way, and with some planning you can enjoy food from south of the border without jeopardizing your diet. Unfortunately, a tasty Mexican meal like that can add up to thousands of calories - and the sodium is off the charts.
